About the photographs

Photographs are taken in natural light.
Depending on your screen and viewing environment,
colors may appear slightly different from the actual piece.

Each work is made by hand, and variations in glaze and surface
are inherent to the process.

Differences in color or appearance arising from these conditions
are not considered defects and are not eligible for return or exchange.
In the case of significant discrepancy from the description, please contact us.

The body shows a subdued, iron-gray clay. A thin layer of white slip is applied from the shoulder upward to about half the height toward the mouth, and the upper and lower edges are scraped back to form encircling bands. The same iron-painted motif appears on the front and back. The glaze carries fine crackle, and the contrast between soft brushwork and the way the glaze runs creates a gentle, quiet expression.

The kodai is shaped in a takefushi (bamboo-node) form, and the area beside the foot is trimmed.
