About the photographs

Photographs are taken in natural light.

colors may appear slightly different from the actual piece.

Each work is made by hand, and variations in glaze and surface
are inherent to the process.

Differences in color or appearance arising from these conditions
are not considered defects and are not eligible for return or exchange.

A Koido-shaped chawan formed from Daido clay, valued for its plain, unadorned character. A soft, ivory-toned glaze settles over the straight, Ido-like profile, while a rough, open network of crackle lends a quiet depth to the surface. Hakeme brushwork appears both inside and out, gathering at the rim and adding a subtle shift in tone.

The kodai is broad and sturdy. Inside the foot, the space opens wide and unhurried—suggesting a still lake. Along the side of the foot, the carving takes on a kaeragi-like texture, creating a clear contrast at the boundary where surfaces meet. Small areas of exposed clay appear in the hima of the foot and within the inner foot as well; where the heat struck differently, the clay shows distinct variations in color.

In the bowl’s interior, crackle, hakeme, and places where the glaze has tightened and pulled back to reveal the clay make the scene notably varied.
