Yui Tsujimura: Kutsugata Mukozuke with Natural Ash Glaze (A)
A mukozuke serving dish by Yui Tsujimura, a ceramic artist whose kiln is located in the mountains north of Hase-dera Temple.
Tsujimura's signature natural ash glaze covers the coarse clay body, creating a unique surface on each piece. With its moderate depth, it is well suited for serving sashimi and other dishes in a traditional kaiseki meal, or as a small bowl for dishes with broth or sauce.
