This one-of-a-kind fragrance stage was created to accompany the Yurasu Kaori exhibition and to showcase Asamiko Imai's special fragrance.

I want to use incense.

Even when you're not burning incense, it looks nice to display.

I tried making something like that.

Please enjoy it together with Yurasu Kaori (Asamiko Imai's) incense.

Product overview

This product is designed to be used with all-natural incense (*1) from the incense creator Mamiko Imai's brand "Yurasukaori." Mamiko Imai's "Yurasukaori" fragrance is something special. We thought that the time and space in which it is used should also be special, and so we designed it as a "stage setting" to make the fragrance sublime (*2).

A design that makes you want to use incense. A design that makes you feel good just by displaying it, even when not in use. There weren't many incense holders and stands like this on the market, so I had no choice but to make one myself. On the flip side, I think this is also an indication that Japan's incense culture has not yet matured in modern Japan.

The synthetic fragrances available on the market are strong. These boastful fragrances make you want to pinch your nose. On the other hand, when we hear a weak fragrance, we try to listen to its subtlety and concentrate, which relaxes us. In addition to the quality of the fragrance itself, or rather, the essence of all-natural fragrances, good and weak fragrances are equivalent.

The "weak scents" of incense and other products made with traditional ingredients and methods have a gentleness and unique history not found in Western scents. I hope that as lifestyles incorporating these scents gradually become more popular, sensitivity to scents will increase and it will become a common choice as "another incense culture" that is different from the West.

<Precautions for use>
• This product is made based on the thickness of Yurasu Kaori incense sticks. We cannot guarantee compatibility with other incense sticks.
• If any incense remains in the hole, gently tap it to remove it or gently dig it out with the tip of a paper clip or similar.
• The crystal, pebble and deep sea pine incense holders can all be washed with water.
• The incense holder may break if it is hit or dropped. Crystals are particularly prone to chipping, so please handle with care. Deep sea pine may also have splinters on its bark, but it is best not to peel them off.
• In my experiments, wooden incense holders will not burn even with the remains of incense sticks. I don't think they will leave any burn marks. However, please do not leave the incense sticks unattended while they are in use and keep an eye on them.
• Wooden incense stands cannot be washed with water. If they get dirty, wipe them with a dry cloth. The surface may become slightly rough after wiping with water. If this happens, we recommend sanding it with 400-grit sandpaper.
• Our wooden incense stands come in two types: oil-finished and solid. Please note that solid wood incense stands are less resistant to stains. However, we choose solid wood incense stands because they look cooler.
• The corners of the metal incense stand are slightly chamfered to soften any sharp edges, but some edges remain. Please be careful not to cut your fingers.
• When washing the metal stand, use a neutral detergent and immediately wipe it dry. Avoid prolonged contact with alkaline or acidic substances, as this may cause discoloration.
• This product has sharp edges and involves handling fire, so please be especially careful when using it in homes with children. Please assume that it is fragile overall and use it for a long time.
• If you have any questions about maintenance or usage, please contact Rikka. (If possible, we will repair it for a fee.)
• Our stone incense holders and wooden incense stands are made with a focus on their pleasant feel. Please give them a gentle stroke every once in a while. They feel wonderful. Quartz and deep sea pine are also interesting materials. Please pick them up every now and then and look at the details.

*1 Mami Imai does not use the term "all natural," but Rikkan has arbitrarily used it to clearly distinguish it from regular incense. The term "all natural" comes from the fact that Mami Imai = Yurasu Kaori incense (and all of its incense) uses only natural ingredients, without any synthetic fragrances or colorings.
*2 Shogon (magnificence). I believe it is a Buddhist term. It is used as the superlative form of "decorate/set up."
