The taste is similar to that of food; while you may feel satisfied while eating it, as time passes, the unpleasant aftertaste becomes more noticeable.

I think one way to judge whether something is genuine is to look at the aftertaste. So if you find a tea bowl you like but are unsure of whether it is genuine, it might be a good idea to look at it in person, if possible, and then look at it again after some time has passed.
